Project Overview
While trying to dive deeper into circuits, I chose to learn more about a touch sensor.
In my curiosity, I coded a simple program that lights up an LED whenever a finger touches the touch sensor.
However, I also aimed to also teach peers how a touch sensor works and how to code it themselves.
So I created a reference guide that can be read and understood by anyone to help them use a touch sensor.
Understanding the Hardware
While trying to figure out the touch sensor for myself, I did struggle with the wiring since the touch sensor did have three distinct pins that each needed to go to different parts of the breadboard and PICO.
I ended up experimenting before actually arriving on my final project, like using an LED to act as an output to demonstrate that the touch sensor was acting as an input on the breadboard.
What Made the Project Unique
What I found unique about my project was how I actually dived into the different parts of the touch sensor that allow it function and detect when something like a finger is interacting with the touch sensor.
Research & Preparation
In preparation for the teaching portion of this project, I really displayed my research skills, willing to look through different parts of the internet to understand phrases like "capacitor," "capacitance," and "oscillating frequency."
